Job Summary


The position of Biobank Technician has arisen within the National Biotechnology Authority and we hereby invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to apply:

Duties And Responsibilities


Responsible for registering, labelling, retrieving and discarding irreplaceable biological and production materials.
The incumbent is accountable for performing all assigned tasks with full attention and accuracy and maintain the integrity of the material and the storage processes.
Perform all functions methodically and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure
Developing Standard Operating Procedures for instruments and Bio banking
Adhere to FDA Good Practices (GMP,GTP,GLP and GDP) ,International Organisation of Standards (ISO),standards and other regulatory requirements as outlined in SOPs
Handle materials in a manner that maintains required temperatures (+30 degrees to 190 degrees) per the project definition and SOPs
Follow all safety requirements for working with infectious and non-infectious biological materials, radioactive materials, chemical compounds and drug products
Utilize the Company Inventory Management System for all sample handling tasks and ensure chain of custody and audit trails for all activities are proactively maintained.

Qualifications And Experience


Masters Degree in Molecular Biology
At least 2 years working experience
Computer literacy and working knowledge of bioinformatics and statics software such as STATA,R,SPSS,Geneious,QIIME
Ability to perform tasks with care , and checks works for accuracy and completeness
Strong attention to detail for repetitive tasks.
