Introduction
The Zimbabwe Farmers’ Union (ZFU) is the largest farmers’ interest organization in Zimbabwe. It represents over a million farming households. The Union through its Special Purpose Vehicle is setting up a Meat Market Business.
Position summary
The Blockman is a key human resource for the implementation of the Union’s Agricultural commercial project.
ZFU is looking for an experienced individual with a strong work ethic who can effectively and efficiently produce various meat products that are easily marketable for the end user. The successful candidate should have extensive knowledge of health and quality standards, regulations around using meat extenders, labelling practices, waste and shrinkage, stock rotation and sale of meat to consumers and commercial customers.

Duties And Responsibilities


Specific Responsibilities will include:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Carcass preparation.
2. Cutting of meat specials.
3. Packaging of meat products.
4. Timely receipt of inventories (receives, inspect, record, and store meat upon delivery).
5. Updating of inventory.
6. Production of value added products (biltong , polonies , sausages etc)
7. Liaising with customers for special orders.
8. Assessing quality of inventory received and escalate any discrepancies to management.
9. Ensuring safe and secure storage of inventories.
10. Maintain operations data, such as time and production.

Qualifications And Experience


Qualifications And Experience
1. At least five O’levels.
2. Certificate in Food processing an added advantage.
3. Knowledge of Food Safety Standards.
4. At least five years in a butchery or meat processing plant.
5. Experience in production of sausages , polonies , salamis etc
6. Experience in food packaging.
