Job Summary


The job exists to provide effective strategic leadership to the Technical Services department. The key strategic objectives are revenue generation, accreditation of conformity assessment activities, operational efficiency and customer & client satisfaction.

Duties And Responsibilities


• Ensures that SAZ achieves its strategic goals through participation in the formulation of SAZ vision
and review of organisational policies
• Formulates and maintains departmental policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency
• Recommends strategies for new business opportunities
• Reviews revenue performance against approved targets
• Liaise with stakeholders and ensures customer & stakeholders satisfaction
• Implementation of a Laboratory Management System based on ISO/ IEC 17025
• Implementation of requirements for the competence of bodies performing inspection based on ISO/
IEC 17020
• Implementing revenue generating projects and activities for the Association
• Ensures compliance to documented procedures by staff
• Reviews performance of Divisional managers on quarterly basis
• Oversees the implementation of Risk Treatment activities for the divisions

Qualifications And Experience


• Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional qualification
• Master’s Degree e.g. MBA or MBL
• At least 8 years’ experience, 4 years at Senior Management level
• Must be innovative and possess excellent communication skills at all levels
• A strategic thinker who is able to develop and define business strategies for successful implementation
• Familiarity with SAZ products and systems (ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17025)
