Job Summary


Position: Household Economic Strengthening Officer (1)

Reports to: District Coordinator

Station: Makoni

Duties And Responsibilities


Roles and responsibilities: The HES Officer will be responsible for the overall rollout of economic strengthening activities in Makoni district, ensuring project activities and milestones are well met. The HES Officer will work closely with relevant government ministries to offer technical support to community-based facilitators in the implementation of VSLAs, financial literacy, technical skills training, income generating, value addition, marketing and financial inclusion activities to ensure the earning capacity of children, adolescents, women and youths is increased and OVCs have access to essential health and education services. The HES Officer is key in reducing the economic vulnerability of households and increasing their resilience to future shocks.

Qualifications And Experience


Qualifications and Experience: At least a Bachelor’s degree (with at least 3 years’ experience) in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Micro-Finance, and other related field from a recognized institution of learning. Specialized experience of working with savings groups through inclusive business and PMSD approaches. Relevant experience in community development focusing on sustainable livelihood approaches, project monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning. The incumbent must demonstrate experience of working with caregivers, young people and children most at risk to HIV. To exhibit strong pedagogic, analytic computer and report writing skills.
