A product-driven industrial manufacturer and distributor based in Cape Town is on the hunt for an experienced international sales manager who understands global markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Grow contribution margin and sales at existing customers and new customers, as well as developing the opportunity pipeline and closing new opportunities
  • Nurture existing and grow new customer and user relationships
  • Develop and implement action plans and goals with, and for, each customer and region
  • Coordinate key account growth plans, manage the opportunities, forecast future business and maintain sales contracts
  • Proactively identify gaps within customer plans and develop corrective action plans to deliver on commitments
  • Identify the opportunities for the product range with customers and offer products to fill those gaps
  • Be fully abreast of global and regional data with an impact on customers.
  • Continuously review competitor activities and market trends/changes to ensure the business aligns their products to customer needs, while ensuring existing customer needs are maintained in line or better than what the competition is offering in the market
  • Be a salesperson, understanding and selling the value-added attributes of the product, while developing and having a keen understanding of the technical requirements, product applications, colour needs and the various printing equipment and software to guide the customer to excellent printing results
  • An understanding and belief for achieving results through professionalism, soft sell, relationships and personal honesty and integrity

Requirements:

  • BCom qualification or similar, including subjects and experience within marketing, economics and or finance
  • Minimum of five years professional sales or customer interfacing roles in industrial product market
  • An ability to get to grips with the technical drivers in the ink requirements, the use of digital printing machines and with the printed output
  • Expertise in business software and ERP systems
  • Must be willing to travel outside of South Africa. This could take up, at most, 50% of one’s time
  • A good communicator with and understanding in dealing with a multicultural environment
  • Technical understanding of products and applications
