Job Summary

The National Employment Council for ZIMRA Undertaking (NEC) Board invites qualified and experienced Zimbabwean citizens to fill the position of NEC Independent Chairperson.

Duties And Responsibilities

Reporting Structure
• The position reports to the NEC Board. Key Functions of NEC Chairperson
• Chair all meetings of the Board and Committees in terms of the NEC Constitution.
• Ensure that all meetings are conducted efficiently and effectively.
• Call special meetings, if necessary.
• Facilitate full and candid Board discussions, ensure Councillors express their views on key Board matters and assist the Board in achieving a consensus.
• Develop teamwork and a cohesive Board Culture and facilitate formal and informal communication with Councillors.
• Help ensure that action items established by the Board are tracked and appropriate follow-up action is taken when necessary.
• Act as the main link between the Board and the General Secretary.

Qualifications And Experience

Qualifications and Experience
• Law Degree or Social Science or Business Degree.
• Chairmanship experience.
• Master’s Degree an added advantage.
• At least two years chairmanship experience in an NEC setting, or 2 years’ experience as Councilor in an NEC or 5 years’ experience as NEC General Secretary.
• Good communication skills.
• A team player.
• Problem solving skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Good planning skills.
• Business acumen.
