Overview
- Lead Spend Control Tower activities
- Identify, lead and develop Continuous Improvement and Stakeholder Management initiatives to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity in Procurement
Continuous improvement
- Take responsibility for productivity/ cost efficiency targets and key compliance metrics (e.g. process compliance; internal audits)
- Manage quality and CI of end-to-end Procurement process, including compliance to policies, strategies and processes
Spend control tower (SCT)
- Prepare materials, contracts and change requests for SCT meetings
- Execute decisions made during meetings
- Maintain governance processes of the SCT
Stakeholder management
- Create strategic category plans to develop long-term supplier relationships that will provide consistent benefits for the organisation
- Lead and build effective relationships with key suppliers to drive value for Aspen through cost effectiveness and innovation
- Drive implementation of supplier strategies
- Manage foreign and local supplier landscape in line with business strategies and global Procurement goals and strategies
- Optimise the supply base through consolidation and leverages and negotiates pricing on combined volumes with industry leading suppliers to reduce the cost of goods and overheads
- Increase spend under contract and negotiates supply agreements with vendors, improving commercial conditions
Risk management
- Set up effective processes to ensure optimum risk assessment, feasibility assessment and planning are implemented
- Manage the legal/ economic implications of Procurement activities
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with Procurement function
- Perform supplier risk assessment and develop mitigation plans
Unit management
- Provide technical and operational input during drafting of unit strategy and operational objectives
- Guide operational planning and advise on prioritisation of activities
- Provide input into budgets and resource requirements for unit
- Request and allocate assets and resources for the fulfilment of work objectives and monitor their use
- Provide unit staff with day-to-day direction and tasks
- Ensure effective communication between the different Procurement functions and report on Procurement activities as required
Requirements
Background/experience
- 10 years’ relevant experience in a production planning or procurement role
- At least three years in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- Proven capability to manage people and processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a similar field

- Thorough knowledge of Pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and operations environment
