The Sales Consultant will be responsible for high-end sales. It is expected of the Super Ambassador to be visible and accessible in high-end stores to onboard potential TymeBank clients. It will also be the responsibility of the Sales Consultant to develop and maintain a sales pipeline focused on SME businesses and to engage these businesses to open SME TymeBank Business Accounts for the businesses and to open accounts for the SME employees, and to engage the staff members in a salary switch. Similarly, it is expected that the Sales Consultant drives Hollard Policy sales in the high-end stores.

To manage the area output effectively and efficiently within an area or territory to which they have been assigned by actively driving the following activities in the area:

COVID Protocols

  • Ensure adherence of COVID protocols in self and customer engagements
  • Ensure the continued cleaning and sanitization of the mobile kiosk including but not limited to the biometric scanner and kiosk screen

Store-Based Activity

Sales and service

  • Identify high-end stores within the area or territory
  • Develop an activity for the month that focuses on an instore presence in the high-end store
  • To actively engage customers within the high-end stores to open both the TymeBank EveryDay Account and Hollard Family Funeral
  • To maintain a daily average of opening 15 TymeBank EveryDay Accounts daily that are both channels activated and Same Day Activated
  • To maintain a daily average of 5 Hollard Family Protect Funeral Policies a day
  • Submission of a sales activity report every week to the Regional Manager whereby the week’s activity is detailed

Promotional activity

  • Engage the Area Manager in developing a plan for a month around promotional activity
  • Physical set up of all planned promotional activity
  • Supervision of the scheduled promotional activity
  • Management of client ambassador or promoter behaviors during the promotional activity
  • Reporting of activity figures during and at the end of the promotional activity
  • Breaking down and packing away promotional equipment

Out of Store-Based Activity

Sales Pipeline Development and Maintenance

  • Identification of SME business opportunities in the allocated area
  • Development of a sales pipeline for SME businesses in the assigned area
  • Maintenance of the sales pipeline
  • Engagement of SME business opportunities as maintained in the sales pipeline
  • Signing up of SME business opportunities as identified and detailed in the sales pipeline
  • Weekly submission of a sales pipeline report to the Regional Manager detailing sales activity in the SME business for the week

SME Business Engagement

  • Actively develop relationships with businesses in the allocated area
  • Continually grow the SME business relationship through the building of referrals from which the sales pipeline will be populated
  • Develop a calendar of sales-focused activity for the business in the area in collaboration with the Area Manager and their team
  • Continued development of the Tyme Brand in the assigned of the allocated area through the hosting of promotional activities either at the SME business premises or within the area, this is to collaborate with the Area Manager
  • Maintain an activity ratio of 10 SME business visits a month, a TymeBank Business Account ratio of 15 SME Business Accounts opened per month, an EveryDay Account opening ratio of 50 staff members a month and a minimum of 40 salary switches a month
  • Weekly submission of a sales report to the Regional Manager detailing sales activity in the SME business for the week

Key Account Management

  • Development of a Key Account Strategy
  • Ensure the identification of Key Accounts within the area or territory
  • Development of Key Account relationships
  • Facilitate the building and maintenance of Key Account relationships
  • Ensure a sustainable pipeline of Key Account activity
  • Maintain activity ratios as it relates to Key Accounts as follows: 10 business visits a month, a TymeBank SME Business Accounts ratio of 15 opened per month, an EveryDay Account opening ratio of 50 staff members a month, and a minimum of 40 salary switches a month

Customer /SME/Key Account Management Engagement Standards

  • Ensure the positive and professional representation of the TymeBank and Edge brand to SME businesses, Key Accounts, and customers
  • Ensure both the TymeBank and Edge values are demonstrated through both the customer and SME business engagements
  • Ensure the highest levels of customer, Key Accounts, and SME business engagements
  • Ensure absolute professionalism in customer, Key Accounts, and SME business engagements

Account Onboarding Standards

  • Ensure all TymeBank accounts (EveryDay or SME) are sustainable, quality accounts that are both same day activated and channel activated
  • Ensure business engagements whether SME or Key Accounts are sustainable and have longevity
  • Facilitate the salary switch of employees of both the SME and Key Accounts staff where the SME or EveryDay account has been opened
  • Ensure Hollard Funeral Family Protect policies sold are sustainable by emphasizing the debit order dates, debit order amounts, and the importance of funding the TymeBank accounts.

Client Relationships

  • Ensure that the client relationship is built
  • Ensure all client relationships are healthy and productive
  • Ensure the regular engagement with the client as is relevant to the role

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Actively build sound stakeholder/ customer relationships
  • Actively develop the TymeBank brand in the area allocated
  • Drive awareness of the TymeBank products and services

Internal Relationships

  • Build effective working relationships within the region
  • Foster sound relationships with colleagues at all levels within the company
  • Participate in all meetings and touch base sessions
  • Attend all company functions and interventions

Training and Development

  • Identify areas of personal development in line with role requirements
  • Engage with training around areas of development
  • Engage in business coaching with Continuous Improvement to ensure continued development
  • Completion of all training assigned on KnowlEDGE within the required time frames
  • Ensure attendance at all face to face training interventions earmarked as compulsory

Branding and Personal Image

  • Undertake to present a neat and professional appearance
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene when engaging with customers whether in Key Account, Instore, or SME business
  • Wear the uniform and identification tags when conducting TymeBank business

Reporting and Meetings

  • Ensure the timeous and accurate submission of weekly reports which includes but are not limited to sales pipeline report, instore activity reports, and SME Business activity reports
  • Ensure attendance at weekly sales meetings and any other meeting planned by the Regional Manager
  • Ensure the regular touch or meeting points with the Regional Manager to foster a healthy and constructive working relationship

Escalations

  • Monitoring of all mobile kiosk issues and the reporting (escalation) of all technical and card issuing queries to the Area Manager

Technical resolution

  • Preventative maintenance of the mobile kiosk
  • Attendance to and resolution of all technical issues on the mobile kiosk

Asset Management

  • Ensure assets such as marketing material, collateral, debit card stock, the mobile kiosk is always kept safe and secure
  • Fully account for all company and client assets which include but are not limited to marketing material, collateral, debit card stock, mobile kiosks, laptops, petrol cards, tablets, etc.

Key Performance Areas

  • Sales Consultant instore and out of store (Key Accounts and SME Business) performance against targets
  • Sales Development Consultant product knowledge, compliance requirements, sales skills, technical acumen, and communication skills
  • Sales Consultant time, attendance, and activity reporting every week
  • Sales Consultant service standards including but not limited to customer service, attire, and interpersonal behaviors
  • Kiosk maintenance and uptime including card issuing rates
  • Promotional activity and realization of targets set for promotional activities
  • Reporting into the RM concerning activity instore, attendance, and performance

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years work experience
  • Fluent in English and/or Afrikaans
  • Track record in sales or promotional work minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Experience in the retail sector
  • Track record of working in a target driven environment.
  • Clear criminal and credit record
  • Own vehicle advantageous
