Duties And Responsibilities
– Operates Bench Top Smelter/ Furnace to
heat mixture of Concentrate and Borax, 2:1 volume at 1200 degrees for approximately one hour intervals
– Extracts free gold via tongs and 0.5kg slag mould on Crucible Tray
– Maintains temperature controls within specified limits
– Completes routine maintenance as per guidance from instruction manual
– Completes log sheets for maintenance of Smelter
– Records time and production data
– Observes best practice safety standards in administering furnace and gold extraction
