Job Summary


Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the above post which has arisen within Council. The incumbent shall report to the Administration Officer

Duties And Responsibilities


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The job holder will be responsible for,inter alia:
• Researching, planning, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining and upgrading software interfaces with the operating systems
• Researching and recommending software development ,purchase and use
• Maintaining system documentation, recording and maintaining hardware and software inventories, site, and/or server licensing, and user access and security
• Conducting technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system
• Documenting system problems and resolutions for future reference
• Offer system support services for all council I.T systems
• Maintaining and modifying existing software systems processes, utility routines and expand the systems to match advancement in technology and changing user requirements
• Updating technical and user manuals on any changes made to systems according to development standards
• Supervising staff in the section
• Providing information systems support services and office automation
• Creating a central data base for Council employees
• Carrying out I.T related in-service training for Council employees
• Carrying out any other duties in line with the organizational goals as assigned by the Head Of Department

Qualifications And Experience


PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
• Degree in computer studies, Information Systems or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience of post qualification experience
• Relevant I.T Diploma is an added advantage
• At least 25-45 years of age
