Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Training Officer to manage the entire dispatching to Coach drivers to transport goods locally and national. Please refer to the minimum requirements, duties and responsibilities below for further information.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Liaise with HRD Department and Business to develop long and short-term training plans
• Present, facilitate and explain internal training curriculum to new and existing drivers.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training according to TETA requirements
• Continuously assessing current and prospective drivers’ competencies and improve on shortcomings
• Conduct practical driver skills assessments prior to employment when required.
• Testing and on-route evaluation of the drivers.
• Remedial driver training when and where required.
• Clarifying terminology and using illustrations to ensure understanding and learning of course content
• Assist in incident /accident investigations when/where necessary
• Identify training needs from incidents/accidents and recommend necessary training requirements to meet required performance
• Ensuring that all material and delivery of training material must be uniform and of a high standard
• Management of stationary requirements for training sessions (manuals, pens etc.)
• Ensure training records are completed and sent through to the HRD Centre as per training admin process
• Implement and stick to the set Training schedule.
• Manage expired training matrix.
• Team up with Contract trainers to ensure practical training are completed timeously.
• Moderate all sampled POE’s as per the QMS
• Compiling Assessor and Moderator reports

• Knowledge of Road Traffic Act and relevant legislation
• Know ledge of Transport Regulations, guidelines and policies
• Knowledge and experience in Health & Safety practices

Qualifications And Experience

• Grade 12 or Equivalent
• TETA registration:
• Facilitator
• Assessor
• Moderator
• Knowledge and Facilitator experience in:
• Convey Dangerous Goods by Road
• Operate a Vehicle Combination
• Fire Fighting and
• First Aid
• 5 years’ experience as a Trainer Officer/Facilitator
• Valid unendorsed Code EC and PrDP
• Medically Fit
• Own reliable transport
• Ability to read, write and facilitate in English
• Computer Literacy
• Valid PDQ certificate will be an added advantage
